1.To facilitate school-based curriculum development to target the specific needs of pupils, the Education Department, as advised by the CDC, has completed the development of a series of Guides to Curriculum for Children with Special Educational Needs. These include the Guides to Curriculum for Visually Handicapped, Hearing Impaired, Mentally Handicapped, Physically Handicapped and Maladjusted Children.

3.Results: According to the GOS, 31. 7% was recovered, 4. 8% was moderate handicapped; 3. 8% was severe handicapped,3. 8% was vegetative, and the mortality rate was 55. 7%.
结果：按GOS判断，恢复良好31．7％，中残4．8％，重残3．8％，植物生存3．8％，病死55．7％。

5.In June, 82 visually-impaired, 845 hearing-impaired, 158 physically handicapped and 336 mentally handicapped students were integrated into normal schools, with the help of support services from the Education Department.
在一九九九年六月，有82名视觉受损、845名听觉受损、158名身体弱能及336名弱智的学童，获得教育署的支援服务，入读普通学校。
6.In December, there were 62 special schools including a hospital school, schools for children who were visually-impaired, hearing-impaired, physically handicapped, mentally handicapped or with adjustment problems. Of these, 19 provided residential places.
截至一九九九年十二月，本港共有62所特殊学校，包括一所医院学校，以及为视觉受损、听觉受损、身体弱能、弱智或有适应困难儿童而设的学校，其中19所设有宿舍。
7.In September, there were 62 special schools including two for the visually impaired, four for the hearing impaired, seven for the physically handicapped, 41 for the mentally handicapped, seven for the maladjusted and one hospital school. Of these, 19 provided boarding facilities.
二零零一年九月，本港共有62所特殊学校，包括两所视觉受损儿童学校、四所听觉受损儿童学校、七所身体弱能儿童学校、41所弱智儿童学校、七所为有适应困难儿童而设的学校以及一所医院学校，其中19所设有宿舍。
8.In addition, Government organs and other institutions and enterprises also employ some handicapped people. At the same time, the country encourages the handicapped to open individual businesses.
除福利企业安置以外，国家机关和其他企事业单位也吸收部分残疾人就业，并鼓励残疾人个体开业。
9.In September, 55 visually-impaired, 665 hearing-impaired, 230 physically handicapped, 635 mentally handicapped and 201 autistic students were integrated into ordinary schools, with special educational support from the Education Department.
二零零一年九月，在教育署的支援下，有55名视觉受损、665名听觉受损、230名身体弱能、635名弱智及201名自闭症学童入读普通学校。
10.In rural areas there are about 17 million handicapped aged 16 to 59, and 10.30 million of them are engaged in raising crops or livestocks. This means that 60.55 percent of the rural handicapped have jobs.
农村16—59岁的残疾人为1701万人，从事种植业、养殖业等劳动的约1030万人，在业率为60.55%。
